A growing body of research demonstrates that global waters are absorbing massive amounts of carbon dioxide, threatening species at the bottom of the food chain. • The above map [SOURCE: Wikimedia Commons] shows the change in sea surface pH caused by man's CO2 emissions during the last 300 years since the industrial revolution. pH is a measure of acidity/alkilinity.
